The internet has changed my Christmas shopping habits for good

The internet is a great tool, use it to look up any information you want to know, download the latest music or videos and do your shopping on it. Christmas used to be a stressful time for me and my wife as we would be frantically searching the high street for the families presents, only to find out that some of them were out of stock.

Now we use the internet to do all of our Christmas shopping and together with saving money, we don’t have to trawl around in the cold on a busy high street.

The internet is also a great place to get inspiration for presents and has many unique shops selling great stuff that you wouldn’t of even thought of, making Christmas day a great experience as someone opens there novelty gift.

We have done all of our Christmas shopping now and even with the cost of delivery have saved money.

I know the internet isn’t great for the high street shops which are struggling at the moment, but is it really worth standing in a queue for an hour to get served or trawling around umpteen different shops looking for a place that has what you want.

Personally I like to point, click and wait for it to come in the post.

Renewed my home insurance with Policy Expert

My home insurance is due up for renewal and after searching numerous comparison websites and checking countless quotes I decided to stay with my current insurer Policy Expert. Their quote was about the same as the other top insurers and covers my house contents up to £50,000 and has accidental damage cover as well.

Having claimed for a new carpet earlier this year (my sons friend spilt a whole bottle of Lucozade on our cream living room carpet), I thought that our premium would go up but it didn’t. Making a claim was easy and straight forward with Policy Expert and the carpet fitters came out within a week and measured and fitted the new carpet.

With an excess of only £150 it also saved me money as it would of cost me as least that just to fit the carpet.

Although other insurers were up to £3 less a month I’ve decided to stay with Policy Expert as I know they are very helpful and quick.

Oh yeah, and Lucozade is banned from my house now :-)

Learning Forex with Real World Investments

Once you have learned the Forex system, you are ready to start trading. At first, it may be a good idea to trade with a demo forex account, so that you can learn the ropes with no financial risk to you.

As soon as you feel comfortable with executing trades consider switching to a micro or mini account. These accounts allow you trade with actual money, but in small enough amounts that there is still little risk to you. Micro or mini trades function just as full trades do, but in fractional units of currency.

When you start trading in this way you really begin to experience the market for real. You can begin trading with as little as a few pounds, so risk remains low. What is important about this is that you will really begin to hone your trading skills. The mini account is really a tool for you to learn with; consider the few pounds you start out with as a sort of tuition fee and that the lessons you learn will enable you to trade forex more successfully in the longer term.

With a micro or mini account, you will learn the forex market in the real world, instead of just pretending to trade, as with a demo account. A mini account will teach you how to navigate the forex market using methodologies you develop. If you wish, you can then apply them to a full value account, but only when you are ready.

Wife has started playing bingo at Xbingo.com

My wife got an email from one of her good friends the other day saying that she should join xbingo.com. Having played on other bingo sites before she decided to join Xbingo and give it a try.

You get £5 absolutely free for registering and a 300% first deposit bonus. My wife says that the site is really easy to use and chats with her friends effortlessly. She hasn’t won anything yet, but one of her friends won a £200 jackpot last night.

Xbingo.com offers a range of 90 and 75 ball bingo games, as well as slot games and table games like roulette, multihand blackjack and double pin roulette. With prizes up to £1000 on its bingo games, xbingo.com is definitely worth a try.

Been playing the Battlefield 3 beta, its great!

As you may be aware I like my gaming, especially first person shooters and I’ve been playing the new Battlefield 3 beta. I got access to the beta 48 hours early as I had a copy of Medal of Honor and I have to say that EA and Dice have definitely come up trumps.

The beta contains only one map Operation Metro, but it does show off the stunning visuals and assault game play we are all use to from the battlefield franchise. There aren’t any vehicles unfortunately so we will have to wait for the full release to get them, but it doesn’t detract from the gameplay whatsoever.

The map starts in a park with two control points that you have to either defend or attack. If both command posts are destroyed you move into the subway, then the tube station and finally the city on the other side. The map is huge and a big departure from the close nit maps on Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The fluidity in which you can jump over most objects is a nice touch, as well as the destructible landscape. Throwing a grenade for instance, when it blows up it will take out trees and bits of wall.

The graphics are simply spectacular and really immerse you in the game and I can’t wait to play the full game when it comes out in October. Until then I’ll have a chance to practice at least until the 11th October when the beta ends.

Buying Forex Software

Automated forex trading is booming.  The large market of trading in foreign currencies appeals to many investors because it is easy to do, it is inexpensive to get started, and the market hours make it convenient for trading at any time of the day or night.

Trading Software

Those who are serious about trading in the forex market use software to help analyse the market and to organise trades and information.  Having the correct software program can make trading more efficient and therefore more profitable.

Finding the Best Software

Since software is so important to successful trading, it is essential to take the time to select the correct program for your needs.  Ask other forex traders to determine the software solution other traders use.  Find an online forum where traders discuss forex and ask for their software recommendations.

Look for a software program that is easy to use.  A complicated program often has more features than a typical trader needs and its use can be more difficult than a program that simply performs common tasks.  Always try the demonstration version of a software program before buying.  If it works well as a demonstration then it may be worth buying.  Make sure to try several different programs before committing to a final purchase.  Before making a final decision, ask for a money-back guarantee.  Any reputable company such as Citi Forex or Metatrader that produces software will be happy to guarantee it and provide a refund if a trader is unsatisfied with the software performance.

Just joined Love Film and its great!

About a week ago I joined Love Film and I have to say it’s a great service. My friend at work brought in a gift card that entitles me to two months free; I chose the Unlimited & Games package which normally costs £14.99 a month.

I got my first two blu-ray discs on Thursday last week, The Fighter and The Other Guys which are well worth watching be the way and have my next two coming. With the Unlimited & Games package I can also rent out Xbox 360 games and watch movies online (though I haven’t tried that yet).

I’m really impressed on how quick the service is and have already loaded up my rental list with over 30 movies and games. It is especially good considering that you can rent games as well because after our local Choices store closed you either had to buy the games at full price or buy them second-hand.

I’ll try to add some films reviews onto my blog when I get the chance.

Fancy some new clothes that aren’t stripy or checked

I don’t know what it is about fashion now a days but once on retailer latches on to a specific style, all of them seem to do the same. I’m looking for some new clothes and the style this year seems to be stripy or checked shirts and skinny jeans.

All I want is some plain jumpers and shirts and a pair of jeans that aren’t skinny, but these are few and far between. Although there is some choice I’m not into wearing mustard yellow or tango orange.

Bring back plain clothes, there timeless and you don’t look like a fashion victim after just a couple of months.
