Study shows that Viagra can help with altitude sickness

A study from 2010 has shown that the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra can help people suffering from altitude sickness. The drug increases nitric oxide levels of the blood vessels surrounding the lungs and helps people to relax.

A common problem that people who climb mountains can suffer from is high-altitude pulmonary edema, where fluid builds up in the lungs making it harder to breathe. Viagra can reduce the amount of fluid in the lungs making it easier to breathe at higher altitudes.

Quitting Smoking with Champix

Champix is a drug that is designed to support smokers in their bid to give up the weed.  It works in two different ways.  It reduces the craving for a cigarette and it also reduces the pleasure a smoker gets when smoking a cigarette.

There are many reasons why you should give up smoking.  When you stop smoking your chance of getting cancer is reduced.  After five years of quitting smoking your chances of getting cancer in the mouth, throat and oesophagus are halved.  After ten years of quitting smoking the chance of you getting lung cancer is halved.

If you give up smoking for one year the risk of you getting heart disease is halved.  Carry on not smoking for another 14 years and your lungs are virtually clear.  Therefore, your chance of getting heart disease is just about as low as lifelong non-smokers.

When you give up smoking your smoker’s cough starts to disappear within months as your lung function increases by ten percent.  There are other non-health benefits to quitting smoking.  You will save money, you will not smell of smoke and you will not have to stand outside the pub in the rain to enjoy a puff.

Most smokers, when surveyed, admit that they would like to give up smoking but find it hard to give up the habit.  Most smokers have tried at least one time to give up smoking unsuccessfully.  That is why a drug such as Champix makes it easier to give up smoking.  It is available on prescription from your local GP.

Understanding the Effects of Viagra Treatment on Erection Maintenance and Hardness

In a recently published article in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, it was substantiated that Viagra treatment significantly improved erection maintenance, a physiologic requirement for satisfactory sexual performance. Because erection maintenance, along with erection hardness, is a physiologic requirement for satisfactory sexual performance, the aim of the study was to look at the effects of Viagra on performance in achieving successful sexual intercourse.

It was found that initial erection hardness appears to be an important treatment goal for enhancing erection maintenance and achieving successful ED treatment and the use of Viagra achieved this. Genuine Viagra can be supplied online through trusted registered pharmacies, following consultation with one of a panel of qualified doctors.

Will we be seeing Viagra spray soon?

I saw an interesting article today when I was randomly looking at the news on the internet, that a spray form of Viagra has been successful in clinical trials.

This new form of Viagra is made by NovaDel and can be administered with the use of a nasal spray (similar to the ones used to treat a cold).

The vaporized version, known as DuroMist contains sildenafil, a key ingredient in Viagra which helps the blood vessels to open that lead to the penis. During tests, DuroMist was compared to Viagra and it was discovered that two sprays of the drug were equivalent to one 25mg tablet of Viagra; it also worked faster than the little blue pill.

NovaDel is now seeking Food and Drug Administration approval, as well as European Medicines Agency approval so that they can start marketing it.

Visiting the dentist every 3 to 12 months is really important!

Most people visit the dentist regularly, but some don’t and it’s important that you visit your dentist in Glasgow or local dentist every 3 to 12 months to keep your teeth and gums in good condition. Not visiting the dentist can lead to teeth decay and gum disease and will no doubt cost you more in the long run.

A dentist can treat and prevent a wide array of tooth and gum diseases and can advise you on what sort of toothpaste and tooth brushes to use on your specific teeth. They can also show you and your children how to brush and floss correctly to maintain good oral hygiene.

The main job of a dentist is to treat tooth and gum problems and one of the most common procedures that a dentist carries out are fillings. A filling is needed when the tooth has begun to decay and the bad bit of the tooth is removed by drilling; it is then filled with porcelain, non-precious metals or dental composite to fill the gap and prevent further decay. If the tooth is beyond repair it is often removed and replaced with a fake one.

A dentist can perform all sorts of procedures from fillings to treating gum disease and it is important that you visit your dentist in Glasgow or local practitioner regularly to maintain healthy teeth and gums and to help prevent against diseases and decay.

Tesco set to sell Viagra

Supermarket giant Tesco is set to sell Viagra over the counter at 300 of its UK superstores. It will go on sale next Monday, with men suffering with erectile dysfunction (ED) and that don’t have a doctor’s prescription being able to request the drug.

Tesco will be the first supermarket to offer the drug and will sell it for just £52 for eight pills; Boots currently sell Viagra for £55 for four pills. Tesco’s stated that only a pharmacist would sell the drug and that all of its customers would be vetted first.

The drug will only be available to men between 40 and 65 and they will be asked to fill in a questionnaire, have their blood pressure and cholesterol measured and undergo a diabetes test.

Use of appetite suppressants for weight loss requires medical advice

There’s loads of information available to anyone who wants to lose weight either to lose a few pounds to squeeze into last year’s bikini or for those who are seriously worried about the risk to their health. The validity of some information remains questionable as some recommendations carry health risks. Seek medical advice before dieting or strenuous exercise.

Whether it’s a few pounds or several stones losing weight requires motivation and discipline.  We all know that fruit and vegetables are good for us and that a reduction of red meats and an increase in pulses has added health benefits.  Oh yes, and we have to combine the healthy eating regime with a few hours of exercise to tone those flabby bits and get our hearts pumping.

We’re all filled with high expectations and good intentions but with busy lifestyles and stressful careers, sometimes it’s just too easy to purchase a quick takeaway and eat it on the sofa when we reach home – accompanied by a large glass of wine.  Tomorrow, we’ll start the diet.

Like all tasks in life, sometimes it’s the first step that is the hardest.  That’s why investing in an appetite-suppressant drug such as Xenical helps to make that first healthy step to a new lifestyle a little bit easier.

Taking Xenical is not the complete answer; diet and exercise must still be followed but it’s a little support to get you started and once the pounds start falling off, your own self-determination will take over. Seek advice from a medical professional prior to use of any medications to suppress appetite.

Why visiting your local dentist regularly is important

Most people know the saying ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’, but what does it do to your teeth? Visiting your dentist in Cardiff or local area regularly is important for good oral hygiene and to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

A dentist can diagnose, treat and prevent all sorts of diseases that affect the teeth, gums or jaw and can advise you and your children on how to clean and floss your teeth properly, what toothpaste to use and the best toothbrushes to use.

Fillings are the most common procedures carried out by dentists; a filling is needed when the tooth has begun to decay. The tooth is drilled to remove the decayed part and filled with dental composite, porcelain or non-precious metals. In extreme cases where the decay is too big, the tooth is fully removed and replace with a fake one.

Visiting your dentist in Cardiff will ensure that your teeth are in the best condition and it is recommended that you have regular checkups every 3 to 12 months.

Searching for a new mattress

I think it’s about time we get a new mattress for the master bed seen as we have had it for way over 10 years now, and because the service and delivery of my sofa bed a couple of months ago I’m going to order it from KD Beds.

Our current mattress is a pocket sprung one, so I think I’m going to stick with that design instead of an open coil or memory foam mattress. Not really sure what I’m looking for in a mattress, but flicking through the pages of the KD Beds website there are  literally hundreds to choose from. I’m probably looking at under £250 for the mattress, so it’s going to work out cheaper than I thought.

Erectile Dysfunction Drugs – Vardenafil

Erectile Dysfunction is a physical disorder that affects one in four males. It occurs when the penis cannot become or stay erect and is caused by various psychological and physical issues. While this physical disorder is difficult to openly discuss, some 5% of 40-year-old males and 25% of 65-year-old males are known to have erectile dysfunction happen to them at some point in their lives. Medical experts provide support by testing and treatment to help men improve their sex lives. Vardenafil, a drug specifically designed for this purpose, is co-marketed by pharmaceutical companies, Bayer, GlaxoSmithKline and Schering-Plough.

Vardenafil is sold under the trade name Levitra and like Viagra and Cialis it works by preventing the PDE5 enzyme from controlling blood flow into the penis, thus causing an erection and preventing erectile dysfunction. If you look at the structure of the drug, it is different from that of Sildenafil because of the placement of the nitrogen atom and the piperazine ring of sildenafil changing into an ethyl group from a methyl group. Tadalafil is structured differently from similar drugs, while Vardenafil is known to have the shortest duration of potency when compared to other drugs designed to prevent erectile dysfunction.

Levitra shares some of the side effects associated with using erectile dysfunction drugs, including pains in the abdomen, back and muscle; palpitations, nausea, hypotension, rashes, itching, abnormal vision and priapism. While the following side effects are rare, the drug has been documented as causing heart attacks and might damage tissue around the penis, possibly making impotence permanent.
