The short journey time from the airport to the resort is ideal as the kids tend to get very restless very quickly.

The hotel we have chosen is right next to the beach and also has a pool, buffet restaurant and entertainment.

Palma Nova seems to have a good selection of bars and restaurants and we will probably hire a car for a couple of days to explore the rest of the island.

I have a big garden and most of it doesn’t get used and is overgrown, so I have been looking at getting a garden room fitted. Our water pressure in the house is poor, so when I fitted our power shower it was a bit of a godsend, but after reading this I might have to fit a normal shower into our new ensuite instead of a power shower.

I did try to turn the water pressure up once, which was great for the standard shower, but meant that the water came out too fast for the taps and toilets in the house so I changed it back. I don’t see any way of having more water pressure to the shower unless I fit a water pump which will also take more electricity and water to run.

Thankfully blackout blinds come in a range of different colours and patterns as my kids want ones that match their room’s colours, so I have ordered a pink set for my daughter and an orange set for my son. For our room I’ve gone for a patterned set that will match the colour of the walls which I have still to paint.

I’ve been looking around for a couple of hours and found the CheekyOne Posh Metal Snuff Bullet; this will be ideal for my brother as his old one was just a cheap plastic one, but a metal one should last him a few years, that is of course if he doesn’t lose it!
