Online Dating – What not to say

The beauty of online dating is the anonymity of it all; you can relax, be yourself, be someone else, or be a superhero. No one truly knows for sure what you are until they meet you. There are however some little tips and advice on what not to say if you are seriously looking for a soul mate in Internet dating sites.

What the initial steps in online dating do is to discover a little about a date – find out their interests, hobbies, work and plans. You want to start by building a friendship and breaking down barriers, getting to know them a little more.

While flirting and teasing online is fun, if you are looking for a proper relationship personal IM sex chat is a bad idea. It will send out the wrong message before you eventually meet up with the person you are just getting to know.

Two subjects that are always advised against discussing in any social situation where you are meeting new people are religion and politics. People have such broad range of ideas, differing opinions and heart-felt beliefs that a beautiful partnership could end before it’s even had chance to start.

Ex-partners and spouses can also be a bone of contention. Most frequently people do not split up under happy circumstances, so talking about past relationships and marriages can be hard for some people, especially with a person they have just met.

Keeping things friendly but formal and light means you won’t offend, but develop a friend online that if your feel comfortable with, you will go on meet in real life.

Glasto

Well it looks like Glasto might be going cashless next year, but they must offer a refund option in case you have money left over. We can imagine that people would put extra money on if they knew that they could get it refunded. I mean there are loads of t shirt printing booths offering custom shirts and even tie die and then even the official Merchandise stands would probably see increased sales.

Also who would hold the cash Mr Evis well he’ll get a nice bit of interest from all that cash.

Hopefully going cashless won’t have any major negative effects on Glasto but only time will tell.

Looking for a gazebo for the garden

If you read my blog regularly you’ll know that I’m always trying to spend my money on various different things like the house or new gadgets, but seen as the summer is well and truly here I’m now looking for a garden gazebo to provide a bit of shade and somewhere to sit in the garden.

I’ve been looking at permanent wooden gazebos because we already have a nice wooden furniture set and it would fit nicely inside. There is also a patio area next to where I want to put it which has a brick barbeque on it (put in by the previous owners) that we use all the time.

I have found a company called the African Thatch Company that sells thatched gazebos at a great price; they are built on a base and come with a ten year warranty. There are also lots of optional extras to choose from including canvas side panels, straight log sides instead of balustrades and roof mounted heaters. An installation service is also available, so all you have to do sit back and relax!

I think I may of just talked myself into one, now to convince the wife!

I’m off to Portugal for a stag party!

I’m quite lucky that I have a group of good mates and we hang out all the time, so when one of them is getting married it’s time to sort out a stag party. We were looking at going to a city like Liverpool or London for a couple of nights, but looking at the cost (especially for hotel rooms), we have decided to rent a holiday villa in Portugal for a week.

We are looking at the Algarve in the south of Portugal and have already found a couple of villas from between €1200 – €2000 for a week, which have private swimming pools and large terraces to have barbeques and chill out on.

The stag party isn’t until the end of September and the final figures on who’s coming aren’t in yet (I think there are 10 of us so far), but we hope to have it all booked within a fortnight. I can’t wait, what could be better than chilling out in a holiday villa, next to a private pool with a cold beer in your hands?

Wife gets her £25 welcome bonus from Ladies888 starts and hogging laptop!

My wife has recently got into playing online bingo, mainly because her friends have also started and they can chat to one another online. They have chosen Ladies.888.com as you can get a £25 welcome bonus for depositing just £10, but if you don’t want to deposit any money you will get £5 for just registering.

As you can expect the Ladies.888.com interface is geared towards women with lots of pink and white boxes, but men can also join and you usually see a few men in the chat area.

Now I’m all for my wife chatting to her friends and playing a bit of bingo, but the laptop is now being high jacked all night :-( . I don’t mind that much anyway because I can watch the football in peace and always use the PC if I need too.

She hasn’t won so far but will keep you posted when she does.

Quite fancy the new iPhone 4

I’m in the market for a new mobile phone and since the new iPhone 4 was unveiled last week I have to say I’m tempted. The design is as usual simple yet iconic and the range of new features is enough to make anyone’s mouth water.

The iPhone 4 has a screen resolution of 640 x 960, which is four times better than the iPhone 3GS and has toughened glass on the front as well as the back; Apple state that this new glass is 30 times stronger than plastic, so should make the device highly durable.

The iPhone 4 also boasts a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, which can also record video up to 720p at 30 fps and a front mounted camera is also built-in giving the device video calling capabilities that Apple call FaceTime.

The iPhone 4 is available for pre-order now, £499 for the 16GB version and £599 for the 32GB version and will start shipping on the 24th June.

Whether I will end up getting one will depend on what contracts there are, but I will definitely be going down to my local shop to try it out when its released.

Time to sort out the guest bedroom

The guest bedroom has been waiting to be finished for a couple of months now, the walls have been painted and carpet is down, but it now needs furnishing. I have been putting off ordering a guest bed because we haven’t needed the room, but I have some family staying at the end of the month so I need to get it sorted.

I was originally looking at getting a small double bed, but have decided to get a sofa bed instead so that we can put another TV or maybe computer in there, making it a dual purpose room. I am also going to build a storage unit which we can store spare duvets and pillows as well as be a stand to put the TV on. A bedside table and lamp will finish the look, so I best get searching as I’ve only got two weeks to finish it.
