My visit to the dentist

Not being a big fan of the dentist I begrudge having to go for my check up every six to eight months, but at least it keeps my teeth in tip top condition. I got to the waiting room around 5 minutes early, thinking that I would be waiting for ages but to my surprise the dentist called me straight away (this has to be a first!).

I was shown into the dentist’s office and asked to sit in the dreaded dentist’s chair; I think the only way I’d like it is if the chair was in a bar and I was having drinks poured down my throat. The dentist came in and asked me a few questions before giving me a check up. After looking around for a bit he said that everything looked fine and that I wouldn’t need any work this time :-)

After dentist check-up I had an appointment with the hygienist who gave my teeth a good clean. It’s amazing how much better you feel when you don’t need any work doing, makes all those minutes standing in front of the mirror brushing your teeth worth it.

Busy Busy Busy

Not many sales over this weekend so I doubt I’ll be going into t shirt printing straight away but it is making me a small amount of money. So I’ll just have to keep on going and see how sales go throughout the year.

This week’s going pretty quick already, I can’t believe that its Thursday tomorrow. It seems like I’ve got nothing achieved in the evenings this week.

Work is manic as ever and it’s managing to keep me occupied past the usual 5.30, and lunch times seem to go nowhere.

The weekend will be just as busy as there’s a baby due in the family, well its due today but we all know how baby’s come when they want so i reckon the weekend will be manic if the baby hasn’t come by tonight .

I’m not sure what surprises next week will have in store for me or work. Hopefully it might be a bit quieter or at least my lunch will appear to last longer.

Seesaw is a great new website that allows you to watch programs from the BBC iPlayer 4OD and ITV, it even allows you to watch series that aren’t advertised on their own players

I’m So, So Cold! Need Warmth!

It is absolutely freezing here right now, yeah the snow is melting, but it doesn’t feel like it has got much warmer!  Whats worse is that my boiler is screaming “We jus’ dinna have the poor” so I think it may be time for me to consider alternative forms of heating.

One thing I was considering was installing one of those underfloor heating systems from Floor Heating Online, it’ll have to be one of their electric underfloor heating kits though, as I don’t think I’ll get any benefit from a water based one linked to my boiler – as I said, its just not able to cope.

I’ll have to save up a bit, and I’ll probably wait until summer, although by then I’ll probably have drunk my savings and decide to punish my future self by deciding I can hack it for another year!

What is everyone else’s experience with underfloor heating? Is it any good?

Vancouver 2010

My brother came round for some beers last night while we watched some of the Winter Olympics coverage from Vancouver. A few of the women’s skiers took nasty falls in the downhill event, i mean they must be doing 80mph at least so I presume it’s like coming of a motorbike with a slightly softer landing if you hit soft snow hit ice then I guess it’s like concrete.

I’ve really been enjoying the BBC coverage of Vancouver 2010, they recently came under fire for sending more reporters to the Olympics than Team GB had Olympians.

This morning I went downstairs to find my brother had left all his smoking gear, rolling papers, tobacco, filters and his tobacco tin. Hopefully he’ll get them picked up tonight. He’ll probably come round on his quad and annoy all my neighbours. He’s got a Yamaha 700 Raptor with twin exhausts so it makes a right noise, and the worst part is he hast to warm it up before he leaves so he’ll be having a fag outside for 10 minutes before he leaves.

Selling T Shirts eBay

Over the weekend I managed to sell a few of my t shirts on eBay, so I posted them on Monday. Selling 3 over the is quite good if this keeps going I should have sold out in 2 months I’m also hoping that sales will slowly rise as well. Which means I’m going to need to look for some more t shirt printing companies online, I would use the company that I used last time but I’m going to shop around a bit more this time to see if I can get a slightly cheaper t shirt.
I’ve seen splashlogo which I have sent a quote off to and found really helpful.

I’m thinking of increasing my order slightly as well if the sales increase. I will use all of my profit as well so that I can have a budget of £200. I’m looking at having a new design aswell “No Lighty No Likey”

Posting them isn’t that bad, as I have some large jiffy bags which I can just slip the t shirt into and then seal the jiffy up.

So fingers crossed for a sale of 5 t shirts this weekend which would be great and make my weekend. I’m also offering special delivery with the t shirts so that people can get them sent the next day.

T Shirts and birthdays

We went round to the brother in laws last night for his birthday, I managed to drink a few cans which he usually hides because he’s tight.

Any way he seemed made up with his present which consisted of two tobacco tins, we originally got him one, but we thought 2 might be a better option. So that he can keep his blunts in one and tobacco and papers in the other.
He seemed a bit puzzled with the blunts, but once I explained about how to use them he soon got the idea.

The other presents ranged from a poor boots voucher to a nice digital camera from his wife, to be quite honest i was a bit jealous about the camera, it was a new canon 500D and it came with a Canon 18-200mm lens.

We stayed round there for a few hours and then left, hopefully this has seeded me a good birthday present in return.

I’ve managed to sell a few t shirts on eBay which has made me happy as I thought I wouldn’t sell any.

T Shirt Venture Part 2

Yesterday my t shirts arrived, i placed the order at the beginning of January and the online tshirt printing company has done a great job I’ve gota batch of 3 prints made up in 2 sizes medium and large.

It cost me just over the £150 i had budgeted as the delivery was slightly more. but I’m really impressed with the quality of the print and the t shirt. They are Fruit of the Loom branded t shirts which makes a nice change as i thought they where going to be really cheap t shirts.

Getting t shirt printing sorted over the Internet wasn’t that bad and was quite an easy experience.

Hopefully I’ll get all my t shirts sold on eBay and down the local pub, I’m hoping to get them all sold by the end of march, if i can get them all sold I’ll make £50 which isn’t a lot but its enough to run my van for the week.

UK Expecting more snow fall – becareful!

Personal injury claims are expected to increase in all parts of the country because of the harsh winter and the heavy snow falls in January with more now expected throughout February. This is due to icy roads and treacherous pavements at this time of year, which has been further exacerbated by some of the heaviest snow falls seen in this country for 30 years or more. Solicitors specialising in No Win No Fee claims are anticipating a rash of claims due to the adverse conditions that have been experienced, both through icy roads as well as pavements. The range of injury claims can be as routine as someone slipping on ice to more unusual causes such as being hit by a huge amount of snow falling from a roof.

Although the recent legal review of the country’s civil justice system headed by Lord Justice Jackson has recommended change to the No Win No Fee system, this will require primary legislation and anyone who has suffered during the recent spell of bad weather should contact a No Win No Fee specialist for advice about claiming compensation for injury or hardship that has been caused. The system more properly know as “conditional fee arrangement” can mean that your case will be assessed and if the solicitor considers that there is a good likelihood of success he will take this on for an agreed fee, usually an aftermarket insurance premium. If they won their claim, the solicitor acting for you earns their fee and usually a success fee (bonus) from the opposing party, typically an insurance company. If you win you should also keep 100% of any compensation sum awarded to you!

Birthday presents for others

It’s my brother in laws birthday next week and he’s bit of a smoker to say the least. So i thought I’d get him some blunts as he currently uses a bong and i thought he might like a different method of smoking.

Packets of blunts are quite cheap so I’ve spent around £10 on varying makes and flavours, I also bought him a tobacco tin to keep his blunts in, that way the open packet will keep fresher for longer, not that it will get much chance to lose flavours at the rate he smokes.

Hopefully he’ll like his present as my birthday is coming up soon and i don’t want a poor present, else his wife will be getting a tenner in a card.

I’m hoping they’ll be able to get me a voucher for asda so that i can get a new game for my xbox 360, ive been looking at getting Battlefield Bad Company: 2 when it comes out in march. To be honest I could probably hope for asda to stock it at £25 on the day of release and that means I’d probably only need to spend a fiver on it.
